Maasai Mara University Vice Chancellor Mary Walingo has defended herself against claims of abuse of office and corruption made by a former university auditor.

In an affidavit dated October 23, Kiplagat Serem, who served as senior audit assistant before he was fired over alleged insubordination, wrote to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Director of Public Prosecutions, asking them to investigate Prof Walingo.

But the university boss said that since taking over in 2014, she had transformed the facility by firmly cracking down on cartels.
