Mousa Dembele 'to lead Tottenham exodus in January' with Mauricio Pochettino letting quartet depart

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly ready to let four players go in January as he looks to freshen up his squad.

Spurs didn't make a single signing last summer but have still made an impressive start to the season.

Pochettino's men have won seven of their nine matches so far and sit fifth, just two points off leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.

But the Spurs boss wants to strengthen his squad for the second half of the season - and could let several players go, including midfielder Mousa Dembele.

The Belgian is out of contract at the end of the season and Spurs may look to get a fee for him in January, rather than risk losing him for nothing.

The Sun also claims Victor Wanyama could also be on his way out with Pochettino willing to listen to offers.

Wanyama has made just two appearances this season with his last start coming in the defeat to Barcelona, when he struggled.

Spurs are also desperate to axe out-of-favour duo Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen.

Nkoudou, 23, spent part of last seaon on loan at Burnley but failed to find a move in the summer.

£17million signing Janssen joined Fenerbahce last term but wasn't given a squad number upon his return to north London.

Janssen underwent minor foot surgery in the summer and is yet to make an appearance this season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly ready to make a last-ditch attempt to land Mauricio Pochettino.

Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui's days are numbered after a shocking start to the season for the European champions.

The Spanish giants are reportedly set to check for a final time if they can lure Pochettino away from north London before making a final decision.

And they could be willing to pay as much as £40m to land the Argentine.
