World’s strongest man impresses Nairobi residents, pulls fire engine outside City Hall

Zyrunas Savickas, the World’s Strongest Man on Friday, September 28, amazed Nairobi County residents by pulling a fire engine outside City Hall.

In a video shared by Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on his Facebook page, Savickas is seen strapping himself up – with the help of some locals ofcourse – before pulling the heavy fire engine for a few metres using only a rope tied to his waist and back.

As he pulled the truck for a few metres, much to the amazement of eyeballing fans, cheers and claps could be heard in the background - a sign that the World’s Strongest Man easily impressed.

He then expressed his excitement of being in Kenya and promoting athletes taking part in the sport.

“I invite everybody to come tomorrow to watch Kenyan Strongest Man and we’ll have a lot of fun” said a panting Savickas.

Savickas is a powerlifter and a professional strongman who hails from Lithuania and is considered one of the greatest strongman of all time. The 43-year-old is the only man to have ever won every current major strongman competition.

Sonko, through a statement, confirmed Savickas will be gracing Kenya’s Strongest Man competition on Saturday, September 29 at the Nyayo Stadium Handball Court.
