Nokia lures new customers with new OS that cuts data costs by 40 per cent

The Finnish mobile phone company HMD Global has launched Nokia 1 and Nokia 2.1 in Kenya, which carry the new Android Oreo (Go edition) that promises users a 40 per cent data reduction. Vice President for Sub-Sahara Africa at HMD Global Justin Maier said the new operating system features a data saver that allows phone users to manage apps.

The phones retail at Sh7,999 and Sh11,500 respectively.
