32-year-old Bobby Madley has stepped down from his role as a Premier League referee.
He has been a referee since 2013 and has taken charge of high-profile matches, making him one of the 18 professionals in the English league.
Madley never officiated a match in the opening weekend of the 2018-19 campaign.
He was the centre referee during the Community Shield final between Chelsea and Arsenal at Wembley.
According to the Mirror, the experienced official quit in order to relocate.
“We understand he has decided to relocate due to a change in his personal circumstances,” read a statement from PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) as seen on the website.
