“If you want to leave, ask for a transfer” – Mourinho dares Pogba

European sports outlets have reported a fresh bust-up between Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and Frenchman Paul Pogba.

Pogba, who was part of the French World Cup winning side was linked with a move to Barcelona but has stayed put at Old Trafford. He played for 80 minutes against Leicester, scoring one and helping come up with the winner.

Mourinho praised Pogba’s performance after the match, dubbing him a ‘monster’ since he had no pre-season but still managed to make himself available for the opening game of the Premier League season.

“Pogba was a monster. We thought maximum 60 minutes, but he managed more than 80 asked Paul and he put himself forward for the team and was very, very good for us,” said Mourinho after the match.

Pogba took to his Instagram account to assure fans and teammates that he will always give his best.

“I’ll always give my best to the fans and my teammates no matter what’s going on,” wrote Pogba.

Now, fresh reports indicate Pogba’s Old Trafford future could be uncertain following renewed wars with Mourinho.

On Wednesday, August 15, English news outlet Mirror claimed Mourinho warned Pogba not to discuss internal problems with the media. Pogba responded by telling the manager to speak to him through his agent Mino Raiola.

“If you wish to leave Manchester, again, all you have to do is ask for a transfer…” – was Mourinho’s response to the midfielder as seen on Mirror.

Pogba left Man United for Juventus in 2012 before returning in 2016 for a reported fee of around 90 million.

Even though Barcelona have temporarily shelved their interest in the 25-year-old, he still remains a top target in the future.
