Cristiano Ronaldo leveled for his side Real Madrid in the 14th minute after Luis Suarez had put Barcelona forward in the fiercest match of La Liga-El Classico, which was played at Camp Nou on Sunday.

While Ronaldo would be replaced by Marcos Asensio after picking up an injury, it was his closest rival in the league and the world of football Lionel Messi who would convert to give Barcelona the lead in the 52nd minute.

As Gareth Bale fired a shot after being picked by Marcos Asensio outside the box to force a 2-2 draw on 10-man Barcelona, history had already been written.

Ronaldo had just scored his 449th goal for Real Madrid while Messi had converted his 551st goal for his side Barcelona.

The duo had made a history between them-scoring a record 1,000 goals for their respective clubs in all completions.

Ronaldo had added another milestone into his career by drawing level with Real Madrid legend Afredo Di Stefano as the all-time scorer in El Classico meetings. Messi on the other hand is still leading the Barcelona club players as the leading scorer in El Classico matches after hitting the 26th goal.

Ronaldo and Messi are entangled in rivalry off on the pitch, with that force spilling over the battle for Balon d’Or, which both of them have won more than thrice.

Ronaldo tops Messi in Champions League goals with 120 as Messi comes second with 100 goals.
