Kenyans can’t help but mock Sonko’s plan to take hawkers and matatu drivers for benchmarking in Rwanda

Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko wants to take 300 hawkers, matatu and bodaboda operators to Rwanda for a benchmarking exercise.

This is meant to educate them on how they can manage their businesses more efficiently.

According to Peter Mbaya, the Director of City Inspectorate, the county wants to restore order in the way businesses are managed.

If you think education is expensive try ignorance. That is precisely what Sonko is trying to do when he plans to take 300 hawkers and drivers to Rwanda for benchmaking. Question is, who drives policy at City Hall? Unless it is the same Hawkers and drivers.— Carrington Mwendwa (@CarringtonMwen1) April 20, 2018

I laughed when I heard that Sonko is planning to take 300 hawkers, matatu drivers to Rwanda for benchmarking. Should it be the other way round? We've just gottten low as a country and people like Sonko are out to diminish Kenya's stature in the region.

Sonko to take 300 bodaboda operators, hawkers and matatu drivers to Kigali, Rwanda for benchmarking. Is this a joke? Nairobians how are you doing with your leadership ????— Mark Philo (@markphilo) April 19, 2018

Sonko should go to Rwanda for benchmarking, not the riders.
