Court stops Governor Kahiga from filling vacant post

Governor Mutahi Kahiga

A former nominee for the youth and gender docket has obtained orders stopping Governor Mutahi Kahiga from filling the position.

Justice Abigael Mshila issued further orders stopping the governor from swearing in another person besides the applicant, Sheila Githaiga.

She directed Ms Githaiga to file a substantive motion within 21 days and serve Mr Kahiga and the county secretary.

“The applicant has been granted leave to bring an application for orders of prohibition to stop, refrain from selecting, nominating or recruiting any other person other than the applicant,” said the orders issued on April 5.

The case will be mentioned on May 9.
