PHOTOS: World Cup 2018 kits are out. Find out what your favourite team’s kit looks like

As the world braces itself for yet another world cup, fans all over the world can’t help but go crazy over the just-released jersey collection.

Out of the 32 teams that will participate, so far, only 16 have confirmed home and away jerseys including champions Germany and last time’s finalists Argentina.

Jersey companies have decided to go retro this summer, reliving the glory days of former World Cup champions through the kits.

Most of the kits have a simple design and represent a huge part of the nation’s heritage either through the team logo or a pattern engraved in the jersey’s designs.

So far, kits for Argentina, Colombia, Peru, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Russia, Sweden, Uruguay and Serbia.

Here are the confirmed kits as seen on English soccer outlet Telegraph Football

ARGENTINA

Lionel Messi’s team have stuck to their traditional striped (sky blue and white) jersey and have honored Argentina’s Football Association (AFA) for its 125 years of service.

They have also decided have a black top with white stripes on the shoulder for their away jersey.

COLOMBIA

The Colombia national team have decided to keep it simple with a yellow top accompanied by stripe designs in the shoulder area.

The stripes will be in red and blue as it is the national flag. The away strip sees the saying ‘United as one nation’ embedded on the collar, is blue with orange stripes.

PERU

There’s nothing special about the Peru jersey but it will still have their traditional red line.

ENGLAND

Gareth Southgate’s men will be donning the classic white shirt accompanied by a navy blue short with white socks.

This is one of their traditional jerseys. The away kit is all red – with a white short and red socks.

BELGIUM

For the first time since 1984, we will see the Belgian national team donning a red (maroonish) top with a diamond pattern.

Their second kit is yellow with black and red stripes on the shoulder – representing the nation’s flag.

SWITZERLAND

Aiming to represent the country and also boast of the mountain regions, Switzerland’s home kit will be red with a white V-shaped collar.

The mountain patters will be drawn as lines white geographical map lines on the whole jersey. The away kit is white, direct opposite of the home kit.

JAPAN

Japan players will have a dark blue jersey with thin white stripes running from top to bottom.

According to Adidas, Japan’s home kit will be inspired by the craftsmanship of the Japanese people and will mimic the traditional stitching technique.

The away kit is an update to the 1991 home kit, grey with the national flag at the top of the team’s logo.

MEXICO

Inspired by the 1990’s designs, Mexico will don a green Adidas top with three white stripes on the shoulders.


They also have the slogan ‘Soy Mexico. Written on the away kit which features the colour white, red and green, the country’s national flag.

GERMANY

Perhaps the best kit yet, Germany have decided to give the fans a throwback to the 90s.

The white top has a black design on the chest with a golden world cup winners badge at the centre.

The away jersey is green with black stripes on the sides, almost similar to the one they wore in the 1990 cup final against England.

PORTUGAL

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team will have nothing fancy in Russia, just a normal maroon top with a green lining on the collar.

The away kit which seems to have everyone talking is white with small green patterned spots.

FRANCE

Nike Senior Design Director Pete Hoppins said that the Le Bleu kit will celebrate the patriotism of the French.

The home kit is blue.

The away kit will be white and will have the saying “Our differences unite us.”

SPAIN

Spain will be looking to relive the 1994 world cup with a similar kit worn in USA at the time.

The home kit is red and features a pattern at the side, colored diamonds running from shoulder to bottom.

The away kit will be slightly grey, white sleeved with red stripes.

EGYPT

Mo Salah’ team will wear a full red jersey with a black lining on the collar and Adidas’ three stripes on the side.

NIGERIA

Meant to honour the team’s efforts in the 1994 world cup, Nigeria has adopted a retro look, a green patterned shirt, a white short with matching green socks.

The away kit is fully dark green.

SENEGAL

Featuring in their first world cup since 2002, Senegal will also have white PUMA kits with a green line running to the bottom on both sides.

The jersey will also have a design embedded at the front.

RUSSIA

Inspired by Russia’s heroics in the 1988 Olympic Games, the hosts will have a distinct red home kit, with three white stripes on the shoulder but with a twist.

Also, there will be no CCCP written at the front.

Their away kit, which is white with dark spots, commemorates the nation’s landmarks and cities.

SWEDEN

Sweden will pay tribute to their 1988 kit with a simple yellow one, with a blue lining at the collar. –The country’s colors.

The away kit is the direct opposite of the home, a navy blue top with yellow stripes on the shoulder.

URUGUAY

They have stuck to their original light blue but this time they will have a pattern at the front, idolizing one of the nation’s monuments.

The pattern almost looks like a star. Their away jersey is a simple white one, with the team's logo on the chest and a blue lining on the collar.

SERBIA

Serbia’s kit manufacturers PUMA have decided to go simple with the team’s kit, a white top with a single red line on both sides.


The red line also appears at the front of the top and runs from the neck to the bottom.
