Uhuru, Kalonzo absent from Nyenze's burial

The burial ceremony of Kitui West Member of Parliament Francis Nyenze is underway at his Kabati Home in Kyondoni village, Kitui County.

Among those attending the burial are NASA principles Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula who flew in at around midday, Tuesday.

Also in attendance is Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi as well as Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and a number of MPs.

 President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was expected to attend the burial,  is represented by The Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi.

Thousands of people were screened by armed policemen before being allowed to access the expansive compound.

Absent from the ceremony is also Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka who had been in Germany nursing his ailing wife. However the Wiper leader was represented by Acting Chairman Kivutha Kibwana. 

Nyenze who had been fighting colon cancer for nine years  died on Wednesday, December 6.
