Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday halted further opening of satellite campuses across the country and urged stakeholders to re-examine how public universities in Kenya are run.

Speaking at a forum on the review of the growth and development of public universities at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Matiang’i said that satellite campuses had turned into employment  dumps where politicians forced the university heads to employ people of their own choice.
