Setback for consumers as ERC hikes fuel pump prices

NAIROBI, KENYA: Consumers are hard hit in new fuel adjustment by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)

Kerosene which is widely used by many households has been adjusted upwards by Sh 5.05 while Diesel and Super Petrol increase by Sh3.70 and Sh1.03 respectively.

The changes in this month’s prices have been a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increasing by 1.42 percent from USD 601.97 per ton in September 2017 to USD 610.50 per ton in October 2017.

Diesel increased by 6.31 per cent from USD508.56 per ton and Kerosene increasing by 8.12 percent from USD 517.54 per ton to USD540.66
