NAIROBI, KENYA: Jimi Wanjigi’s Lawyers led by James Orengo said on Wednesday that they will move to court to sue Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett and DPP Keriako Tobiko over contempt of court.

Orengo said police disregarded court’s order to proceed with raid at Jimi Wanjigi’s residence in Muthaiga.

“The court gave us the orders in many copies in their original, with the seal of the High Court and signed by registrar of same court. Still the police would not obey,” said Orengo.

Jimi Wanjigi condemned the 72 hour siege at his residence terming it unnecessary drama.

“It was unjustified siege premised persecution. It’s a complete fabrication by police and all firearms found in the court are all licensed,” he added.
