Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar, and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino exchanged blows on Tuesday afternoon at Parliament media centre.

Jaguar who was elected on Jubilee ticket got irritated after Babu Owino referred to President Uhuru Kenyatta as the ‘care taker president’.

Jaguar accused Babu of disrespecting President Uhuru but Babu on the other hand retorted that Kenya has no president.

“We have no president in Kenya, Uhuru is a caretaker president,” said Babu Owino.

Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Mwangi also joined Jaguar in asking Babu to respect President Uhuru.

The two MPs were separated by the staff who were present.

Members of Parliament were holding a sitting to debate on the proposed controversial changes to the election laws.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) legislators vowed not to attend sittings and accused Jubilee of dishonesty.

On September 25, Babu Owino was arrested over alleged abusive remarks on President Uhuru Kenyatta during a rally in Kawangware when he addressed crowds there.

The MP was later released on a cash bail of Sh200,000.
