Despite finishing third in Prinsloo championship, Homeboyz are still at the summit with 51 points.

Although Homeboyz finished third in the Prinsloo Sevens rugby championship over the weekend, they are still perched at the top of the National Sevens Circuit with 51 points.

By overcoming Strathmore Leos 21-15 in the play-off final at the Nakuru Athletic Club, the Deejays collected 17 points.

This was after Homeboyz had been beaten by the losing finalists Top Fry Nakuru RFC 17-12 in the semi-finals of the Main Cup competition.

As a result, the Deejays picked 17 points from Prinsloo Sevens, maximum 22 points from Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa after they defeated Nakuru RFC in the finals with the addition of 12 points from Kabeberi Sevens for a total of 51 points to remain at the top of the national Sevens Circuit with only three legs of the circuit left to its conclusion.

Despite losing 29-5 in the Prinsloo final to Kenya Commercial Bank, Top Fry Nakuru RFC have jumped to second position on the log with 46.

This is the second time Nakuru RFC are falling in the series’ finals after they did so in the Driftwood Sevens against Homeboyz in Mombasa.

Nakuru RFC are improving with every tournament since they poached former Strathmore Leos head coach Mitch Ocholla - who can be credited for the good performance.

“The series are very tough but we are improving. I am not disappointed with our performance against the bankers,” Ocholla told Standard Sports.

The bankers have moved up the ladder to fourth position with 42 points after collecting maximum 22 points in the Prinsloo Championship.

Menengai Oilers dropped to the third position with 43 points after they lost 15-7 to Resolution Impala Saracens.
