Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga to get ready for the repeat presidential election on October 26 and stop issuing threats that there will be no poll.

Francis Atwoli, pointed out that Raila should stop living in denial that he was not consulted on the date announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), to conduct the fresh process.

The COTU Secretary General further urged the former Prime Minister to campaign across the country before the showdown between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Raila should be ready for the elections any day, he should stop living in denial that he was not consulted on the date for the repeat election. He should equip himself by campaigning across the country,” reiterated Atwoli.

President Uhuru indicated on Friday that the Opposition leader cannot continue holding Kenya hostage with unending conditions over how the repeat election should be carried out.

Speaking in Kiambu County, the Head of State said that Raila does not want to go to the poll because he knows he will lose.

“Mungu ni yule yule na waKenya ni wale wale” (God is still the same and Kenyans are still the same). That is why he does not want an election,” Uhuru pointed out.

The President also called on Kenyans to embrace peace before, during and after the fresh election.

He urged residents to turn out in large numbers to ensure that the Jubilee Party emerges victorious
