While addressing the media, he said that the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, ordered the arrest of the leaders after receiving instructions from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Uhuru Kenyatta has given instructions. But I would like Uhuru Kenyatta to play by the rules. You are a presidential candidate, I’m a presidential candidate, let us face the people. Do not intimidate my supporters to cripple my campaign,” Raila noted.

The former Prime Minister reiterated that President Uhuru should stop intimidating the Opposition ahead of the repeat presidential election on October 17.
