Becoming a millionaire is no longer a wild dream thanks to the sports gaming platform, SportPesa.

The tagline ‘Made of Winners’ is becoming more of a reality everyday as gamers bag millions of shillings by registering and playing with SportPesa.

Earlier this year, Samuel Abisai walked away with a staggering Sh221 million after cracking the SportPesa Mega Jackpot. And now, there is another new millionaire in town.

Soft-spoken Bomet farmer Daniel Mallel last weekend won the SportPesa Mega Jackpot bonus after correctly predicting 16 out of the 17 available games.

His efforts were rewarded with a prize of Sh20,523,927.

The father of two began his journey with SportPesa in 2015 and has been playing ever since.

Mallel admitted to being an avid gamer and last weekend proved no different as he religiously placed his Mega Jackpot predictions using Sh400 on four different slips. He followed up the matches until the last game on Sunday evening.

“I remember the game that cost me the entire sum was number 16 on the list. I had placed a draw for the game and in the final minutes, the home side scored and won the game,” Mallel said.

Asked whether the win would quell his urge to keep playing with SportPesa, a bubbly Mallel said: “The money I have won is a huge amount but I want more.”

The 27-year-old also said he had taken part in the mid-week SportPesa Jackpot and was confident that he might just add to the millions in his possession.

Accompanied by his older brother, Mallel arrived at the SportPesa offices in Nairobi on Tuesday morning for a cheque presentation ceremony.

Barcelona fan

The FC Barcelona fan expressed joy and appreciation after winning the coveted prize.

He said he wanted to expand his farming business to help his 11 siblings and extended family. His main crops are maize, beans and tea.

“Everybody needs to know that this is real. It is possible to win this amount of money. I’m very grateful to SportPesa,” he said as the cheque was presented.

“You will not always win but you also cannot win unless you try. I have tried for quite some time and finally, I have been lucky enough to win 20 million.”
