The main suspect in Moi Girls School fire tragedy was arraigned in court Wednesday morning accused of murder and arson.
The court directed that the suspect will be detained at Kilimani police station for seven days pending the conclusion of investigations with the prosecution saying she was in great danger from members of the public.
Her lawyer had opposed prayers by prosecution to detain the suspect arguing that decision to lock up the defendant was inconsiderate and inconsistent with court procedures.
Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i had earlier mentioned that the incident was an arson attack.
