Suspect in deadly Moi Girls inferno detained for seven days

In the dock: A suspect in the Moi Girls School fire in a Nairobi court on Monday.

The main suspect in Moi Girls School fire tragedy was arraigned in court Wednesday morning accused of murder and arson.

The court directed that the suspect will be detained at Kilimani police station for seven days  pending the  conclusion of investigations  with the prosecution  saying she was in great danger from members of the public.

Her lawyer had opposed prayers by prosecution to detain the suspect arguing that decision to lock up the defendant was inconsiderate and inconsistent with  court procedures.
