Governor Mike Sonko met top security chiefs in the county and asked them to work hard to contain crime.

Sonko, who was in the company of his deputy Polycarp Igathe, told the officers on Tuesday evening that he had been receiving complaints from some residents concerning crime in their areas.

He assured the commanders of his support in efforts to contain and reduce crime in the city.

"Held talks with the Nairobi County security team. I am committed to building strategic partnerships with all stakeholders to transform Nairobi," he tweeted.

Present at the meeting were Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome and security chiefs for different areas in the city.
