USIU rugby player Mike Ouma has died after a tragic accident in his flat in South B, Nairobi.

It is unclear how the accident occurred or the nature of injuries he suffered, but according to a statement on Ragahouse’s website, USIU head coach Dennis Mwanja confirmed that Ouma‘s body has since been moved to Uhai Mortuary Nairobi awaiting burial.

The death has sparked an outpouring of support from Kenya Rugby fraternity, as top clubs offered condolences to the man's family and friends.

"It's is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of one of our players, Mike Ouma who passed away today early morning," tweeted USIU.

His death comes almost exactly one month after Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) rugby player, James Kilonzo was fatally wounded in the chest by assailants as he withdrew money at an M-Pesa outlet in Kamoteini, Kasarani.
