Opinion: Would six-piece voting format guarantee good governance?

This whole debate amounts to the famous 'tyranny of numbers'. In our country, both in the past and with the present regime, it is clear the ruling party or the majority in both Houses draw their strength from their respective backyards.

Jubilee and NASA principal need these numbers so as to pass bills in Parliament. Nobody would wish for a situation where bills take forever in Parliament due to pressure mounted by the opposition. Secondly, even if the nominations were shambolic, the rise of 'Independents' bodes ill for Wanjiku.
