Details of Raila's 'GOALKEEPER' who President Uhuru could not score agaisnt in Sunday's match

On Sunday, the opposition’s presidential race contender Raila Odinga crowned his address of thousands turning up at a rally NASA organised at Jacaranda grounds in Donholm by a thrilling match.

Mr. Odinga has remained key in the Kenyan politics and through his epic rhetoric attracts huge crowds and leaves many desiring to hear more.

Yesterday, the former PM had a match for the crowd and interestingly, his team’s first eleven had a female goalkeeper who President Kenyatta could not score against.

In his line-up, Mr. Odiga has Ms. Ogla Karani in the goalposts with a hard to crack defense led by Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, his Siaya Counterpart James Orengo and Governors Evans Kidetro and Hassan Joho.

The ‘goalkeeper’ is not known to many. Ms. Ogla Karani served as Deputy President Wiliam Ruto’s backroom policy formulation think tank until she decamped the ruling side to the position of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary for foreign affairs in 2015.

One of the local dailies quoted her saying, “I have no regrets because mine was the right and best decision I have ever made in my life,” she explains, noting that God saved “me much more than I could have ever saved myself from Jubilee people”.

In Sunday’s match, Mr. Odinga vividly portrayed her as a perfect goalkeeper, saving an on-target strike from the President led Jubilee team.

“President Uhuru Strikes but the goalkeeper, Mama Ogla Karani picks the ball perfectly without any upheavals,”

Mama Ogla Karani, the ODM National Deputy Treasurer, and NEC Member was appointed alongside retired Justice Tom Mbaluto as CORD’s nominees to the IEBC selection panel and faced a behind the scenes opposition from her home county Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

During the merger of parties to form Jubilee party, rumor had it that the deputy president had sought negotiation with Mama Ogla to have her join the new outfit, a plea she rejected.

With Mr. Odinga figuratively having her as the person to trust incase his defense line in the first eleven slumbers to allow strikes by the Jubilee team get through to the post, it appears she has a key role as the opposition as they brace themselves for a fierce battle in August.

When you look at the defenders of the team, both Governor Kidero and Joho stand a chance to have a shot at the presidency in 2022 as speculations have been but both Mudavadi and Kalonzo had to shelf their ambition in support of Mr. Odinga’s likely last chance to lead the country.

They all appear to have settled for a ‘We will try some other time’ after what is believed to be a transitional government if they emerge victors in August.
