Three matches end 1-1 while Mathare drop to 18th as league goes for two-week break.

Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker went level on points (27) with league leaders Gor Mahia after defeating AFC Leopards 1-0 in Meru and K’Ogalo drew 1-1 with Posta Ranger at Nyayo Stadium.

Tusker’s Jackson Macharia struck in the 39th minute as the brewers piled more misery on the limping Leopards as the league takes a two-week June transfer break.

Rangers’ Dennis Mukaisi broke the deadlock on the hour mark when he rose above his markers to nod home Geoffrey Kataka’s delivery.

However, Jacques Tuyisenge ensured parity in the 79th minute after he went in for Right Back Karim Nizigiyimana.

It was the same results in Kericho and Kisumu where Zoo were held by Sony Sugar and Western Stima came from behind to share the spoils with Kariobangi Sharks.

The controversial equaliser at Nyayo came barely a minute after Donald Owiti made a goal line clearance to stop Wellington Ochieng’s header.

“I think Tuyisenge handled the ball before scoring, but since the referee didn’t penalise him, we have to accept the results,” Rangers coach Sammy Omollo told The Standard Sports.

At Ruaraka, Kepha Aswani’s late penalty kick condemned Mathare United to their eighth defeat of the season after falling 2-1 to newcomers Nakumatt.

Nicholas Meja put Nakumatt ahead in the 62nd minute only for Chrispinus Odour to draw level from the spot.

However, in the 87th minute, the former Leopards man secured a fifth win for Nakumatt.

Meanwhile, a late goal by Hubert Kopany in the 84th minute was enough to secure Western Stima a point against visiting Kariobangi Sharks at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium.

Sharks’ striker Masoud Juma scored in the 25th minute.
