Businessman gives defecting Ukambani Wiper MPs Jubilee branded Prados to campaign for President Uhuru

Defecting Ukambani leaders who decamped Wiper Party for Jubilee have been issued with brand new Prados and other campaign materials as they lead campaigns for President Kenyatta’s reelection in the region.

The other campaign materials are posters and branded shirts and t-shirts estimated at Sh60 million reportedly sponsored by businessman Peter Muthoka who is the former CMC Motors chairman.

Mbooni MP Michael Munyao confirmed that they had also received two trucks for road shows and were to receive a third one in a short while.

“We have been given two trucks for campaigns as the other one will be brought to us soon,” said Munyao.

He added that the groups in the region supporting President Kenyatta’s reelection bid had solved their differences.

He said they had slight disagreements on who was to be the point man to lead them in reaching the president and on who would control the resources to be allocated the region for campaigns.

Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambo said it would only be appropriate if they led the campaigns as they had gone through heavy criticism after defecting from Wiper in 2014 and could not work under new entrants from Wiper.

Those expected to lead the campaigns include the health CS Cleopa Mailu, permanent secretaries Monica Juma, Mutua Kilaka and Victor Kyalo.
