Kanu governorship aspirant Suleiman Sumba has vowed to unseat the incumbent, Wycliffe Oparanya of ODM.

He said Kanu has the numbers to topple Oparanya and dismissed claims that the county is an ODM zone.

"I have the numbers to win the seat. I have support in three constituencies - Mumias East, Mumias West, and Matungu. Oparanya controls only two constituencies - Butere and Khwisero," said Sumba.

He dismissed assertions that the contest is between Oparanya and Senator Boni Khalwale of Ford Kenya.

"This is a three-horse race - ODM, Ford Kenya, and Kanu. Khalwale only relies on Shinyalu and Ikolomani."
