Businessman arraigned in court for issuing bad cheque

A businessman in Chuka town was arraigned in the law courts on Monday for obtaining credit on false pretence.

James Komu Justus alias Jasho appeared before Resident Magistrate Mwanamkuu Sudi. The court heard that on April 4, 2017, in Chuka Township in Kiang'ondu location, the accused obtained 2,000 litres of petrol valued at Sh190, 000 from Erastus Muthama's Mlajasho Petroleum Products Limited.

It was alleged that on April 13, 2017, Komu issued a cheque to the company, knowing well that his account did not have sufficient funds.
