WHY I WANT TO BECOME ROYSAMBU MCA

The roles of a Member of County Assembly are representation, oversight and legislation. It's a basic prerequisite to acquaint yourself with these before aspiration.

Representation- To articulately voice the will of the people. To spearhead advocacy for their economic, social and political well-being in the County assembly and any other platform- conventions, summits etc.To put myself in their shoes.

Oversight- To check/keep in toes the County government that is headed by the elected governor.Its mandate execution, resources allocation/distribution, and utilisation.

To question areas that you feel are not clear or rightly done. You are the watchdog.

Legislation- To think creatively, introduce bills and support motions that seek to help the people achieve their socioeconomic aspirations.

My promise to the people of Roysambu is to push for;

1. Youth and women empowerment- To partner with their groups and ensure that they receive entrepreneurial skills that will enable them to run their desired businesses profitably.

To have some youth programs ( by the government) rolled out in the ward in order to occupy the youth.

To equip the women and youth with other technical skills and know-how through short courses. The main objective of this program is to boost self-employment.

2. To upgrade the existing markets and have conducive business structures e.g stalls that will be rented to people at affordable rates-.Rent is one of the biggest expenses in business.

3. To ensure fair bursaries allocation/ distribution so that the real needy persons can benefit.

To have a BAZENGA Foundation that will give scholarship to bright and needy students.

4. Road networks- to push the relevant authorities/agencies to make roads, sewer systems, and drainage systems.

It ensures ease of movement of goods and people. Proper drainage and sewer systems reduces waterborne/sanitation related health risks.

5. Establishment of a community library that will occupy our minds and quench the thirst for knowledge. Information is power.

6. Traders and residents running their errands around the Ward have no access to public toilets/bathrooms. This is achievable and can be established.

7. Connect streets with lighting to boost security in the area-When other aforementioned areas have been put in place, crime reduces.

I will use my network and will push for funds allocation to be able to realise the goals since they are all capital intensive.
