High noon for Kayole Asubuhi in Super 8

Defending champions Kayole Asubuhi are increasingly finding the going tough after they suffered a 2-1 defeat against lowly Kabete United in the ongoing SportPesa Super 8 Premier League at Camp Toyoyo, Nairobi, at the weekend.

Steve King’ori opened the score sheet for Kabete United in the first minute before Leonard Freddy doubled the tally for the visitors after a superb solo move from the left.

Although the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute, Kayole still failed to claw their way back, with Larryson Lugalia’s 38th minute strike being their only consolation.

It was the second time the champions were below par in the league that is in its third week. Kayole drew 1-1 with lowly Masa FC at Makongeni in their first match of the season.

Kayole head coach Isaiah “Song” Omondi said the priceless chances his team failed to convert, particularly striker Tobius Olum’s opportunity, were regrettable.
