The meeting between President Uhuru and the retired President Moi has left many wondering was the Deputy President William Ruto comfortable with their meeting.
Some may argue that it had no significant impact on William Ruto's political grip and focus. Of course divergent opinions are most welcome but would you say William Ruto was never discussed during the meeting? If he featured in their discussion what might have been said about him ?Wait !!
Was it a coincidence that Ruto hibernated while at the same time news about the meeting reached the public? The sudden disappearance of the DP from public limelight not only left his allied keyboard warriors (bloggers) unable to defend rumours that he had been flown for treatment in Turkey. None had a clue about his whereabouts. Not until Sunday morning.
The William Ruto we know since Uhuru met Moi isn't the same Uncle Willy we have known all along. None can delink the relation between the above stated meeting and the hibernation.
Sources indicate that Uhuru Kenyatta prefers Peter Kenneth for Nairobi governorship. This is a man Ruto fears might ruin his 2022 presidential ambitions and therefore has come out in support of the Sonko led team.
Uhuru as is expected has remained neutral in the public domain, but the curtains possess secrets. The game has therefore changed that within Jubilee, the race for Nairobi governorship will be Uhuru's versus Ruto's teams.
The company of Sonko led jubilee team and his son Nick, is a pure indicator that Ruto has retreated to the drawing board to safeguard himself against possible political checkmates.
If there can be divergence on who should be Nairobi governor Jubilee flagbearer, then everything else is possible on similar dimensions including a possible soft spot should Gideon Moi be involved in future.
Finally, the attention media gave to Nick was well calculated. As an aspirant for Eldoret North parliamentary seat, he had to be brought into limelight so that he can have a name enough to fight his own battle.
In politics, once you become the subject in mainstream media there are bonga points involved. All said and done, there are two men William Ruto is afraid of :
1).Peter Kenneth
2). Gideon Moi.
