Fierce fire guts business block in Kericho

Property worth millions of shillings was reduced to ashes after a fierce fire burnt down a business block in Litein town in Bureti Constituency.

Bureti DCIO Stephen ole Tanki said the cause has not yet been established but they have launched investigations. With the help of residents, fire fighters from Kericho and Bomet managed to put out the raging flames.

A distraught business owner, Mr Chelogoi Cheruiyot, claimed he lost Sh250,000, two motorcycles among other properties in the dawn fire tragedy.

Former NSSF managing trustee Richard Langat and former National Housing Corporation chairman Sammy Chepkwony have petitioned Governor Paul Chepkwony to acquire more fire engines.
