While Kenyans took to social media, baying for the blood of Cameroonian referees for denying them victory during their Group B opening game to Ghana in Limbe, referee Carolyne Wanjala and assistant referee Mary Njoroge are making the country proud in Yaounde.

The pair together with first assistant Mauritian’s Queency Victoire impressively handled Group A match between South Africa and Zimbabwe at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

The match ended in a draw. But while the trio had a good outing, Jeanne Ekoumou killed Harambee Starlets’ spirit with her dubious calls. Rwandese Salma Mukansanga served as the reserve referee in an all-East African affair.
