The fate of the multi-billion shilling Bukhungu Stadium project in Kakamega County hangs in the balance after the Senate sought to halt ongoing construction forthwith.
A section of the facility collapsed on Saturday evening injuring one prompting demonstrations by residents and quick intervention from the Senate.
Senator Dr Boni Khalwale said the House expects Governor Wycliffe Oparanya to submit a detailed statement on what could have caused the facility to cave in and avail details about the procurement process.
The county has been given ten days to respond.
