Mt Longonot Park reopened following closure due to sanitation concerns

NAKURU: Operations at Mt Longonot National Park in Naivasha are back to normal after a three-week acute water shortage was resolved. A check by The Standard found that the park now has adequate water. Nancy Wambui, a regular visitor to the park, said that Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) staff had addressed the problem of cleanliness in the public toilets. The Department of Public Health had ordered the park closed last week following a sanitation crisis that saw public toilets closed. Paul Gathitu, the KWS spokesman, attributed the closure to a communication breakdown.
