Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale (pictured) has said he will ditch UDF and join a CORD affiliate party ahead of 2017 elections.

“At the moment, I’m working with the coalition but at the right time, I’ll join one of the parties within CORD to seek a mandate from the people during 2017 elections,” he said.

Dr Khalwale defended his decision, and said although he was dissatisfied with UDF, he had not yet joined any of the CORD affiliate parties.

The Senator, who was speaking on the sidelines of a Senate Leadership Conference in Mombasa, supported a decision to crack the whip on rebel CORD MPs.
