Overhaul Judiciary to fight corruption, says Kang’ata

The Judiciary should be overhauled following claims of bribery and incompetence among judges and magistrates, an MP has proposed.

Kiharu MP Irungu Kang'ata said overhaul of the Judiciary would restore public confidence following present bribery and corruption allegations implicating some judges.

Speaking in his constituency, Mr Kang'ata proposed introduction of tough measures to bar members of the Judiciary from engaging in corruption.

He said members of the Judiciary enjoys security of tenure, making them more prone to corruption and thus need for a lifestyle audit.
