Youth in NEP still marginalised

Months ago, we pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to create a youth ministry to solve the problems facing the youth in our country.

Youths are the most venerable in society as far as radicalisation and drug abuse is concerned.

The youth in North Eastern region who voted for Uhuru have not seen the promising part of his government. It is not only the Jubilee government but all other governments since independence.

We have experienced police harassment, extra-judicial killings, brutality, ethnic profiling and marginalisation when it comes to sharing of national resources.

Our people can’t travel freely in their own country. From Mandera to Nairobi, our identity is questioned several times. In the last few months, we have seen the Government sue its people over resource allocation.

Kenyans deserve equality and justice and we demand what is rightfully ours. We love this country; the only place where our story is possible.
