Even ugly men have sex appeal

Unlike women whose desirability is determined primarily by looks, men need a whole lot more qualities to be considered desirable. Women will always scramble for the highest status male because the value of the man a woman ‘catches’ directly impacts her, and determines her own worth in society.

For example, a politician’s wife is accorded a level of authority just for being the wife of an important man.
