Businessman Brian Yongo evicted from Kitusuru home, again

NAIROBI: Controversial debt collector Brian Yongo has been evicted from his multi-million-shilling Kitusuru home for the third time.

Wednesday, auctioneers stormed his compound and carted away property in two trucks over unpaid rent arrears of Sh3.1 million.

The house is owned by Mr Jigisha P Jani.

"We received instructions to levy distress against the tenant for rent arrears of Sh3, 168, 850," said the auctioneers.

A source who participated in the eviction and requested anonymity said Mr Yongo was evicted after he failed to pay for the house, which he was to buy at a cost of Sh 45 million.

"Last time, Senator Sonko helped him. Today Sonko is not around and we have to take away everything," claimed the source.

However, Yongo said the matter was still in court and that there has been a status quo order.

"I had obtained a court order. The case will come up for mention on August 4, 2015," said Yongo.

A month ago, auctioneers went to the palatial home and carried away all the household items belonging to Yongo.

However, Yongo managed to salvage his goods after Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko sent the Sonko Rescue Team and policemen who commandeered the auctioneers to return the goods.

As the stand-off ensued, Yongo pleaded with the auctioneers not to carry away his goods in a third truck that was parked outside the gate.
