Suspended Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission chairperson Matemu resigns

Nairobi, Kenya - Suspended Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC chairman Mumo Matemu has resigned in a letter to the president citing personal rights and interests.

“I have today tendered my resignation as chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, vide my letter addressed to H.E the president of the republic of Kenya in accordance with provisions of sections 9 (b) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act of 2011.” Read part of the statement to the media.

He at the same time thanked the president and the people of Kenya for allowing him serve the nation in that position.
