CID boss Muhoro offers the missing link in runaway crime

NAIROBI: Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro says boda boda operators are a source of insecurity in remote reaches of the country.

I think this is a great breakthrough in our policing. With such a discovery, I am certain police will start screening new operators, perhaps demanding a certificate of good conduct before a licence is issued.

I think Mr Muhoro and his team shall put measures in place to protect unsuspecting boda boda users who might be easy targets of rogue operators.

SHARE FINDINGS

After all, a crook is unlikely to safely deliver a passenger home then go about looking for someone to mug. It is much easier to deliver their passengers to places where they can be robbed easily and ride away.

Which makes Muhoro’s declaration so important in the fight against organised crime that he must be applauded for his wisdom.

And if Muhoro has not considered it, he should share his findings with county governments, which would profit immensely from this ground-breaking discovery.

There is no doubt that this will go a long way in the fight against crime since many Kenyans must have been agonising over measures to put in place to contain runaway crime.
