The county government has constructed five sub-county headquarters in each of the five constituencies. And the construction of the county headquarters is nearing completion in Wajir East.

The government yesterday said the construction, estimated to cost Sh400 million, will make the county the first to have well established sub-county and ward administration offices.

“We have recruited all the six sub-county and 30 ward administrators to ensure services are delivered,” Governor Ahmed Abdullahi said while opening one of the the ward administration offices in Wajir town.

“It took 18 months to create this platform for devolution because previous local authorities had not created a proper infrastructure.”
