Nairobi, Kenya: Rangwe MP George Oner Ogalo was Monday arraigned at a Nairobi court to answer to charges of forgery and fraud over a parcel of land situated in Nairobi’s Embakasi.

Prosecutor and Senior Superintendent of Police Brigid Kanyai told Nairobi Chief Magistrate Kiarie Waweru that the accused, on or before March 6, 2008, at an unknown place with intent to defraud Benson Ritho Mureithi and without lawful authority made a cancellation of charge for land registration number 7107/2 situated at Embakasi, Nairobi, purporting to be a genuine document issued by Kenya Revenue Authority’s Department of Domestic Taxes and signed by one John Orioro for Commissioner of Domestic Taxes.

Ogalo also faced another count of fraud on sale or mortgage of property contrary to Section 318 (C) of the Penal Code.

The court heard that the accused on October 7, 2009 in Nairobi, having been contracted as a surveyor by Mr Muriethi to sub-divide the said land in Embakasi, he induced Jacinta Nyawira Kingi to accept a sale agreement for the plots number 27903/433,434, 452 and 453 with intent to defraud her into believing he was in a position to sell her the said parcels of land.
