Hassan Omar’s 3,000 guests wedding banquet

Former Kenya National Commission on Human Rights commissioner and experienced activist, Hassan Omar, ties the knot on Saturday. The flamboyant human rights activist will be wedding his long-term girlfriend Asli Osman Mahmoud in a four-day event in Mombasa. The guestlist comprises of movers and shakers in the Kenyan political landscape, business and celebrities. It is an invites only feast to be witnessed by 3,000 friends.

The main event will be held at Baluchi Mosque on Saturday before a guests’ banquet on Sunday.

Friday will be a curtain raiser ceremony, but Saturday will be the official wedding ceremony to be executed according to Islam.

On Sunday, 1,000 female guests will be celebrating the bride at Jubilee Hall while 2,000 men will be at Mombasa Sports Club at the bridegroom’s pleasure. The two ceremonies will take place simultaneously.

On Monday, there will be a four-hour party at Wild Waters before guests disperse at their pleasure.

The lady charmer, who is believed to be making his debut into politics this year, is a law graduate from Moi University and has been active in human rights advocacy and training under the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (Supkem), the Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri) and the Kenya National Students Union (Kenusu) where he served as Chairman.
