Ocholla opts for exposed players

By Feverpitch Reporter

National under 20 coach Mitch Ocholla has opted for experience in the team that will represent Kenya in the junior world rugby trophy.

The JWRT will kick off next Tuesday with Kenya opening their campaign against Namibia. Of the 26 players named in the squad, 17 were involved in the loss to Namibia in the qualifiers to the tournament.

Ocholla has named Strathmore player Eric Kioko as his captain and Patrice Agunda his vice. Mathew Musalia will bring his experience to the front row as hooker, alongside Ryan Musumba at the prop.

Maestro ken Isindu who is renowned for his aggression is expected to head the back row at his number eight position. The young eighth man intends to settle old scores after he dislocated his fingers at the last run in with Namibia while trying to defend the last minute try by Namibia that won the game for them.

At the wing will be Owen Ocholla, who is expected to follow in the steps of brothers Mitch and Peter, who have both made their mark in Kenyan rugby.
