Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto has asked his Azimio la Umoja rival Raila Odinga to stop fighting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Wading into a string of attacks his opponents have recently levelled against him and the electoral body, the Deputy President also defended his apparent temper, saying he is angry at President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila.

He accused the duo of derailing the country’s development agenda, saying they have now sensed an election defeat and are shifting their attention to the IEBC.

Ruto told off his opponents over remarks that he had a high temper, making him unfit to be president and claimed he had a strong reason to be angry because of the state the country is in.

Speaking to the residents of Nyamira at the county headquarters Bus Park, Ruto accused the Azimio One Kenya Alliance opponents of sabotaging government development plans. He said his anger started when President Uhuru Kenyatta entered into a handshake deal with Raila.

“My temper should not be a campaign issue. It’s true I am an angry person because the President and his Handshake brother (Raila) decided to abandon The Big Four Agenda started engaging in succession politics. Would you be happy in such a situation?” Ruto asked the people.

Recently, Azimio running mate Martha Karua told Kenyans that Ruto is not suitable to be president due to his perceived high temper.

“If he can be as angry as this when he hasn’t ascended the top seat, how then will he be with Kenyans if you trust him with the presidency?” Karua posed.

According to the DP who made a stop at Mabera town in Kuria West Sub-county, he said he is ready to face Raila at the ballot and told his opponent to stop attacks on IEBC and it’s chairperson Wafula Chebukati

He claimed that every time Raila sees things are not going his way, he start complaining to create grounds for discrediting the results.
