In response to the WHO announcement that processed meat products like ham, bacon and hot dogs could increase one’s chances of getting colorectal cancer by almost 18% depending on consumption levels, several meat industry stakeholders have responded differently. Some are opining that the WHO report is simply alarmist. In this schism about processed meat intake, so many consumers are thrown into confusion and unnecessary anxiety.
