How a good diet can help you prevent cancer

The announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) that processed meat products predispose consumers to certain types of cancers should not be regarded as alarmist, but taken as a salient reminder about dietary choices.

For many years, nutritionists, doctors and even other public health officials have often warned about inappropriate dietary choices. In response to the WHO announcement that processed meat products like ham, bacon and hot dogs could increase one’s chances of getting colorectal cancer by almost 18% depending on consumption levels, several meat industry stakeholders have responded differently. Some are opining that the WHO report is simply alarmist. In this schism about processed meat intake, so many consumers are thrown into confusion and unnecessary anxiety.
