Forget Ukambani votes, Muthama tells Uhuru

Senator Johnstone Muthama has told off the Jubilee government over what he terms as unfair treatment of Kamba community in national affairs.

Speaking at a show hosted in a local vernacular station, Mbaitu FM, on Wednesday night, Mr Muthama advised President Uhuru Kenyatta ‘to forget’ votes from Ukambani region in the next General Election.

The senator accused the ruling coalition of “systematically targeting” to remove from office members of the Kamba community under the guise of fighting corruption.

Graft cartels

Mr Muthama termed as “clever political scheme” the decision to press charges against suspended Lands Cabinet SEcretary Charity Ngilu for alleged obstruction of investigations into corruption allegations involving her ministry.

“They kicked Ms Ngilu out because she does not support corruption cartels operating at Ardhi House, as they falsely believe she had leaked confidential graft-related information to CORD coalition,” he said.

He claims the same war has been extended to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, being accused of allegedly grabbing land belonging to the National Youth Service in Yatta.

Elsewhere, Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has come under sharp criticism by his constituents after allegedly issuing oversized shoes to primary school pupils.

Hundreds of comments poured in on social media after the MP posted on his Facebook page that his office had distributed some 2,000 pairs of shoes to selected primary schools.

“Today, my office assistants distributed 2,000 pairs of shoes to these primary schools under our Matungulu Constituency Shoes Programme,” reads the post, dated July 9.

Facebook and WhatsApp users have since been engaging in a fierce debate, accusing the MP of showing gross disrespect to children.
