Athlete charged with cattle theft set free

A Narok court acquitted a marathoner who had been charged with stock theft.
Alfred Rotich had been charged that on the night of 29 and 30 November last year, at Aldonyo Rasha village in Narok South, he stole two cows, property of Kisenyenye Nampaso valued at Sh65,000.

The athlete who had denied the charges had been languishing in Narok GK Prison for six months.

While setting him free, the area Senior Resident Magistrate, Allan Sitati said the prosecution failed to provide three key witnesses; two buyers at a cattle auction and the auctioneer to testify in the case.
